The Embassy of India welcomes you to a free Business Seminar on:
India's Basic Education – Challenges and Opportunities for Collaboration
In recent years there is increasing awareness in India about Finland as a country that has done well in education. There is a growing number of visits from Indian school teachers, principals and owners to study schools in Finland. Finnish education companies have shown interest in reaching out to schools in India, but have rarely been successful in tapping these opportunities. One of the reasons is that the education systems and the socioeconomic context are very different in the two countries.
Our event is an attempt to bridge this information and knowledge gap. It will feature Indian education experts based in Finland, and Finnish education companies and other stakeholders exploring collaborations with Indian schools and opportunities in the Basic Education sector in India. It will provide an overview of the structure, functioning and requirements of Indian schools and the differences in infrastructure, curriculum and pedagogy when compared to Finland. The event is divided into two parts - the first section will feature presentations on "Understanding the Basic Education Ecosystem in India" and the second section will feature presentations on "Finding a Way of Collaborating in the Basic Education Sector". Both sections will be followed by Q&A segment with all the speakers. There will also be ample time for networking.
